Nature Explorers is an online destination for anyone who has an interest in nature and is looking for ideas on how to connect – connect with nature, and connect with others who like nature. The site is part of the youth engagement work of Nature Canada whose mission is to protect and conserve wildlife and habitats in Canada by engaging people and advocating on behalf of nature.

Nature Canada needed a new site designed from the ground up and needed to be able to launch in a short-time frame.  Using the Open Outreach distribution as a starting place, we were quickly able to provide a Drupal 7 site which combined an array of detailed content types and related views enabling users to share photos and enter photo contests, view events and locations on a map, while ensuring that privacy concerns of a youth audience were kept front and centre.
